1. The moment where I realized that not only would I be meeting bloggers at the airport, but that Kelly and Katherine would be waiting with a handmade sign. And that within minutes, we would be pulling off artistic poses like this. Obviously Katherine and I are ready for our own Vegas show. Genius is a fire within us. It is why we blog.
2. The moment Amanda became my pusher and I went from this:
into this: “MORE ENERGY DRINKS! NOW LET’S GO SING CELINE DION KARAOKE! GET ON BOARD”
I have a blog?
What wonderful news!
Seriously though, the last month has been a whirlwind of pie baking and sleepovers and dress freakouts and pictures posed while modeling 1 am lush flush. There’s been swimming in clear water, fighting grasshoppers and napping under trees. There’s been last minute speech meltdowns and celebratory high fives. There’s been gasps over the dress, sighs over the kiss and a successful mission to recapture a flower girl gone rogue.
Originally, my plan was to try and keep life sane while preparing to watch my best friend get married- though eventually through …READ MORE
So one of my friends emailed me this and it pretty much consumed me with reckless, uninhibited glee. Sort of like how you would feel if you were perched in Hawaii, taking a bath in chocolate sauce, listening to your favourite song after finding the Hope diamond in your sock drawer, when Ryan Reynolds comes in and offers to paint your nails. Shirtless.
As much as I adore lists- I’ve never been a “Life List” girl. My wants- my over the top suddenly I can’t die happy unless this happens, ultimate guide to unparalleled joy wants, change pretty regularly. If life …READ MORE

I got a few emails today asking where The Secret Project was. The truth is, submissions have slowed so I’m going to post once a month. I have to say, The Secret Project is such a treat for me to share. There were some secrets that made me cry, ones that made me laugh out loud, ones that broke my heart into eleventy thousand pieces- and there was one secret someone shared that was one that I kept too. And checking my inbox and finding that someone else had gone through something I had? Well, it was …READ MORE
It’s Monday, so you know the drill. Read past Monday (or Sunday!) posts in January, February, March and April to get caught up. Also remember to keep the secrets coming and let other people know about the project. Submissions have slowed a bit so I may start posting monthly instead of weekly.
1.I got an abortion last week. The guy hurt me badly, so I texted him to tell him I was pregnant and getting an abortion because I was more concerned about my own feelings than his, and he responded by saying, “Well it’s done now, cheers.” The …READ MORE
I’ve mentioned in the past that before I realized that a person could just randomly write stuff for the internet to read, I was big on mass emailing my every thought to everyone on my email list. This included my manifestos. That’s right. Every summer, I would write a summer manifesto detailing what exactly I wanted to accomplish that summer. And I did it without wearing a potato sack or complaining about capitalism.
I was re-reading one of them and decided it was too ridiculous brilliant to not share. So here (in part) is my Summer 2004 Manifesto. I’m …READ MORE
1. I hug you. Often. And without warning. In fact, the ‘sneak attack’ hug becomes the #1 weapon in my arsenal.
2. I suddenly start liking hot dogs. Especially, hot dogs from 7-11. Or, if I’m going to be frank, I will eat any “meat” product under the heat lamp at 7-11. And I will be the GREATEST THING EVER.
3. Cute guys no longer matter but I will be instantly attracted to anyone who is riding the mechanical bull.
4. I ride the mechanical bull. Twice.
5. I decide that taking those STD posters that you find in the …READ MORE
I know. That title is such a hook. You are dying to read this aren’t you? The word ‘meme’ always gets the people flocking.
Let me tell you a little story. There’s that “letter” meme going around (that isn’t the story, stay with me, I promise this tale gets SCINTILLATING), Beth gave Matt the letter “D”. Then, I complained to Matt that I had nothing interesting to blog about (yes, these are the things I say in gchat conversations, doesn’t it make you want to find me so we can talk RIGHT NOW?), so Matt gave ME his letter. Because …READ MORE
I thought this was an appropriate grouping of best/worst ’08 topics to share considering I spent a lot of my Saturday night drinking martinis and then later refused to get out of a car until I had sung this entire song for my friend. I sang with my eyes closed, with my head bopping and with elaborate hand gestures, all while still wearing my seat belt. My liver and I are back on speaking terms, but I’m fairly certain my friend is scarred for life.
