This weekend I reclaimed my closet. At first I was just going to tackle spring/summer clothes and store them for the winter in my summer house garbage bags shoved into closets, but then a second of inspiration coupled with a fleeting moment of ambition led to me clearing off all my shelves, unfolding every article, removing each shirt, dress, regrettable sequined ensemble from it’s hanger and tossing it on my bed to be sorted and then placed in an appropriate bag to be either stored or given away.

Five Truths That Make Me Question My “Girl” Status
1. I would rather attempt to read German car manuals for the next 10 years rather than spend an evening reading the “Shopaholic” book series.
2. I do not (even after repeated attempts) like yogurt. (I know this one doesn’t make sense but I just assume all girls like yogurt. I can’t explain it. My brain is ridiculous).
3. I have not spent oodles of time planning my imaginary wedding. In fact, the only thing I know for sure is that a) I do want to get married and b) I …READ MORE
I’ve mentioned in the past that before I realized that a person could just randomly write stuff for the internet to read, I was big on mass emailing my every thought to everyone on my email list. This included my manifestos. That’s right. Every summer, I would write a summer manifesto detailing what exactly I wanted to accomplish that summer. Someone from somewhere far away (like Canada!) stumbles across your blog or you fall upon her’s first, …READ MORE
This weekend I might have bought a book on US politics.
And I might have also re-discovered a love for red wine.
And I might have consumed wine and then called people.
And I might have thought it would be THE GREATEST idea to read them my favourite line from The Gettysburg Address.
And I might have actually shed a tear or two while reading it.
And I might have followed all of that up by telling each of them that I LOVE THEM and then letting them know that they are AMAZING and then asking if they wanted me …READ MORE
Oh my stars, what a week it’s been. I’ve slept less, cried more and laughed harder in the last seven days than I think I ever have. I could fill you all in with longest post ever with thoughts so deep we all would need to wear rubber boots, but honestly? My brain is hurting and I need sleep. So instead, let’s do this prison rules style. Bring on the bullets!
There are two kinds of calls you can get at 1am- 1) A call from someone telling you that they love you and they miss you and they want …READ MORE
