Macy. Kim. Me.

So first of all, if you break out into hives when someone whispers the word “Kardashian”, this post is not for you. But here, look at my cute puppy before you go:

You want to see how adorable Macy is in her harness she wears because her walking speed is Mach 5? Okay! One more:

Now that you feel that you’ve swallowed a rainbow of happiness, you may leave.

Kardashian time.

Let’s just get it out in the open- I like Kim Kardashian. I think she’s a smart business woman and is ridiculously talented at knowing how to …READ MORE

August and Everything After

Oh hi.

I have a blog?

What wonderful news!

Seriously though, the last month has been a whirlwind of pie baking and sleepovers and dress freakouts and pictures posed while modeling 1 am lush flush. There’s been swimming in clear water, fighting grasshoppers and napping under trees. There’s been last minute speech meltdowns and celebratory high fives. There’s been gasps over the dress, sighs over the kiss and a successful mission to recapture a flower girl gone rogue.

Originally, my plan was to try and keep life sane while preparing to watch my best friend get married- though eventually through …READ MORE

WTF’s & FTW’s

I’m fairly certain someone (me) once said “When life gives you WTF moments, figure out how to turn them into FTW celebrations.” Which is only mildly less annoying than the phrase involving lemons and lemonade. Or the one your aunt always repeats involving lemons and tequila which she repeats so often you’d think she thought of it rather than reading it on a forward that she’s sent you roughly 34,595 times.

But phrases like that are around for reason (and not just to be complied into lists that your relatives forward you from now until eternity), they make sense. And when I …READ MORE

Four

So Saturday was the big day. I cannot even find words to describe everything that went on. There was tears and laughter and hula hoops. There was people who came out of nowhere dressed up as knights, photo booth pictures and a dance off to Britney Spears. There was long talks, fast drinking races and a dance to “Shout” that would make Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson proud. It was exactly what I hoped it would be and so, so, so much more.

Like I said there was a photo booth at the wedding and if anyone wants to have …READ MORE

The One That I’m Writing Just For You

I was told once that I’m not a personal blogger. I write about what’s going on at school, I wax on about my love for Josh Lyman and tequila but when it comes to sharing stories about my friends or family? I don’t find myself writing those stories easily. Perhaps because I feel guarded- those friends and family, well I adore them in the ways you adore the things you can’t imagine living without.  I keep them, I keep their stories close to me the way you sometimes hold on to good news or happy memories, because you love them …READ MORE

The One About My Dress

You can find the post HERE.

“I cried when Bea Arthur died”

It’s Monday, so you know the drill. Read past Monday (or Sunday!) posts in January, February, March and April to get caught up. Also remember to keep the secrets coming and let other people know about the project. Submissions have slowed a bit so I may start posting monthly instead of weekly.

1.I got an abortion last week. The guy hurt me badly, so I texted him to tell him I was pregnant and getting an abortion because I was more concerned about my own feelings than his, and he responded by saying, “Well it’s done now, cheers.” The …READ MORE

The good, the bad & the irrational anger

Confession: I haven’t really liked myself lately.

This has nothing to do with my hair not cooperating or the fact that my favorite fall clothes are not fitting the way I like. It’s more than that. It’s less than that. I haven’t liked my attitude lately. And by that I mean, if I could figure out a painless way to curb stomp some sense into me, I would.

I’ve been sleeping well. I’ve been visiting friends. I’ve been working regularly. I’ve been running and reading and writing in my journal. I’ve been taking my vitamins, deep conditioning my hair, remembering …READ MORE

The Ta-Da List

I’m going to level with you.

I’m a list person. Writing down everything I need, want or should do brings me the peace of mind that I can’t get with vodka shots with beer chasers yoga. However, when the to-do list gets insanely long I start adding things that I’ve already done. Just so I can check them off. Because crossing off things on my to-do list rates right up there with licorice and Don Cheadle on my list of things I love.

Sometimes, I completely forget the point of a to-do list and just write a list of everything …READ MORE

What. The. Hell.

You know how I’ve been stressing about the wedding that IS TODAY? The one that I have to BE FUNNY for? The one where I’m SPEAKING IN FRONT OF A LARGE CROWD? Yeah, that one. Well, I had a hair appointment today.  I went in with a picture. This was the hair I wanted:

because at some point, every girl has gone into a salon with a Jen Aniston photo I think. It’s almost like a rite of passage. I want her body and clothes as well, but I thought I could at least count on getting a version …READ MORE
